Landscape Plants for Eastern North America: Exclusive of Florida and the Immediate Gulf Coast
Published in Paperback by John Wiley & Sons (June, 1983)
Authors: Harrison L. Flint and Jenny M. Lyverse
Average review score:

Invaluable reference for the landscape professional
As a landscape designer, I use this book almost daily as a complement to Michael Dirr's texts. The line drawings of each plant in youth and maturity provide a better idea of its habit than most pictures ever could. The "Problems and Maintenance" section has helped me avoid many potentially inferior plants, and the "Adaptability" information gives a nuanced understanding of wind tolerance, pH, light and water requirements. Finally, the "Seasonal Interest" symbol provides a finely tuned assessment of the plant's attractiveness throughout the year: I use it to find plants with year-around interest. This is a book for professionals who have to live, and die, by their plant recommendations.

Authors: Pen Notes, Harriet Harrison, Susan Aldrich, Carol Cassidy, Pen Notes Inc., Lorette Sobol, and Lorette Konezny
Average review score:

Excellent educational and fun activity for young children
This book was a gift for my niece, and she loved using it. She became the first child in her kindergarten class to know how to tell time using a clock face, and this book is definitely the reason why.

Lecture Notes on Psychiatry
Published in Paperback by Blackwell Science Inc (15 August, 1998)
Authors: John Geddes, Michael Sharpe, P. J. Harrison, and Michael J. Rutter
Average review score:

comprehensive coverage of the basics
Like many in the Lecture Notes series this book provides comprehensive coverage of the subject. The important syndromes and most of the undergraduate syllabus are dealt with in a clear and straight forward manner making this as good a text for a first look as for last minute revision. More interested readers will find it a good launch pad for more in-depth studies. I recommend it to undergraduate medics as a book that should get you through finals with room to spare.

The book enters the immortality domain
I learned about the book while searching 'YESENIN' in .... I was shocked when I started to read. How the american understands and loves the Russian genius! One has to be a great poet, as great as Yesenin's wife Isadora. Yes, after the iron curtian fall, Yesenin is going to take place he belongs to - next to Cervantes. Thank you Mr. Jim Harrison for your kind beautiful letters. I love you.

Leviticus: An Introduction and Commentary (Tyndale Old Testament Commentaries)
Published in Hardcover by Intervarsity Press (April, 1999)
Authors: Roland Kenneth Harrison and Donald J. Wiseman
Average review score:

Quick Review
Introductory level of study. This is a very nice introduction to Leviticus. It's not too technical or advanced so that one is lost in Hebrew textual data.

Lies and Deceptions

a fun weekend read
All I want to say is that this book is a lot of fun! This book will make you laugh and keep you at the edge of your seat. It had everything from crazed stalkers to handsome men ready to sweep you off your feet. The characters are believable, even if some are a little over the top. The good guys are good and the bad guys are bad, even if the other characters are taken in by the bad guys' facades.

Of all the characters, Dale seems the most together. He's also the one I found myself routing for the most. As for secondary characters I have to say the pill popping, plastic surgery addict, Dolores, has got to be one of the funniest and caring secondary character in this book. As messed up as she is, there are times you just want to hug her! She's like your grandmother on acid. Every time she popped up I knew I was in for a treat. Another thing I liked about this book was that not everyone was gorgeous. It was nice to see an average guy falling in love without having to change who he really is. It's a message you don't often see in books or movies.

Lisa Fonssagrives: Three Decades of Classic Fashion Photography
Published in Hardcover by Vendome Pr (November, 1996)
Authors: David Seidner and Martin Harrison
Average review score:

SUPERMODEL
Lisa Fonssagrives was the first true supermodel. She had a cool easiness to her modeling, she was almost surreal. Her beauty was perfection. I do not believe there has ever been a model that can compare to her. The supermodels of today, Cindy, Naomi, Claudia are all beautiful, but not in the same way that Lisa was perfect. Its so nice to see her images captured in a book. I hope that in the future more will be done to regenerate her place in history.

Little Boy Soup/Ages 5-7
Published in Hardcover by Ladybird Books (June, 1990)
Authors: Toni Goffe, Ladybird Books, and David L. Harrison
Average review score:

Great Story.
A little boy takes a walk through the woods. He becomes thirsty and sees a little wooden house. He stops at the house to ask for a glass of water. The little old lady lets him in, but the woman isn't just any old lady. She's the Wicked Witch of the Woods! The Witch has the little boy help her prepare her famous "little boy soup" and the boy needs to think fast to escape.

The kids at the day care I taught at loved this book. I read it seven times within a two hour setting. I never got tired of reading it, though. It's a great story with a delightful ending. In some ways, it reminded me of the classic Rumplestiltskin fairy tale.
